Carbondale, Colorado

Located at the intersection of the Colorado and Crystal Rivers and the base of Mt. Sopris, Carbondale is a fun town to spend a weekened away with activities for all. Hiking, kayaks, camping, cross-country skiing, hot springs, all located deep in the Rockies, west of Denver, in the mountains. Just 30 miles from major ski country in Aspen and plenty of family adventures in Glenwood Springs 15 minutes away such as the highest theme park, it’s easy to spend a weekend (or two!) in Carbondale, Colorado.
Breckenridge, CO
With abundant shopping, dining, skiing and outdoor activities, it’s easy to see why the adorable town of Breckenridge is a favorite for weekend getaways. Breckenridge is particularly a favorite in the winter because it makes the winter feel warm and cozy and fun. Horse-drawn carriages, adorable shopping mecca and plenty of cozy dining and bed and breakfasts. Plenty of skiing in Breckenride where the highest chair lift in the world is located but the Main Street is adorable to wander down where many of the town’s 100+ restaurants and bars are located. Lake Pueblo, CO
One of the hottest fishing spots in Colorado is Lake Pueblo, just an hour south of Colorado Springs. With over 4,600 acres of water available to play on and over 10,000 acres of land for camping, its easy to see why it’s a favorite spot. With a public swim beach, electric hookup, laundry facilities and more, its easy to relax a weekend at the lake whether you are ice fishing or summer fishing. The lake is well known for a solid stock that includes mallmouth bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, wiper, channel catfish, flathead catfish, blue catfish, rainbow trout, common carp, gizzard shad, and white suckers. Telluride, CO
As one of the most picturesque towns in Colorado, it wouldn’t be a weekend list if we didn’t include this gorgeous mountain town about 5 hours west of Colorado Springs. Stunning in the winter with its gorgeous main center in town and plenty of top-notch skiing available, this little town is the perfect weekend getaway with cute, unique restaurants, local shopping and lots of activities that make Colorado famous. A former Victorian mining town, Telluride has certainly changed into a gorgeous little town to getaway too. Lodging is plenty and stunning with gorgeous vistas across the expanse of this wild mountain country.
